Barcelona will pay compensation to Mateus Fernandez

The current player of Red Bull Bragantino in the first Brazilian league will receive at least 7.7 million euros, reports As.com.

The footballer was spotted in Real Valladolid, where he played on loan from Palmeiras, and in the summer of 2020, Barcelona paid the Brazilians seven million euros for his transfer.

Mateus’ first and only match in a Catalan shirt took place in an unimportant Champions League game against Dynamo Kyiv, which lasted only 17 minutes.

After the end of the season, Juan Laporta unilaterally terminated his contract, citing “low performance in training”.

According to the court, the protocol was signed by physical trainer Edu Pons and has no value, and the football player should receive compensation. FC Barcelona has announced that it will appeal this decision.
