Mohammad Mehdi Karami and Seyed Mohammad Hosseini were executed in Iran

Along with Karimi, junior coach Seyed Mohammad Hosseini was executed on charges that he helped kill a member of the Basij militia on November 3 during protests. Two were hanged, writes Marca.

21-year-old Mohammad Medhi Karami started practicing karate at the age of 11 and was one of the best Iranian athletes in this discipline. He was part of Iran’s youth national team and won several national titles.

Karimi was sentenced on December 5, just a week after his trial began in Tehran. According to the family, he was tortured in prison and denied access to a lawyer.
