“This injury was very unfortunate because I felt very good during my season, I felt very good during the training I did physically.” – said Emma Reducanu, reports Eurosport.
“And I just had an accident on the field, I don’t know what I could have done to prevent it.
I take things day by day and try to see and progress as best I can every day.
We’ll see, hopefully by Monday or when the tournament starts I’ll be fine and ready.
We’re taking it day by day and we’re not trying to expect too much at this stage.” – she continued.
Emma Reducanu was eliminated in the second round in her previous appearance at the Australian Open.
The first Grand Slam tournament in 2023 will be held from January 16 to 29.
