The game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Buffalo Bills of the NFL (American football) has been suspended due to the cardiac arrest of Damar Hamlin, who is in critical condition.

Game 17 of the NFL regular season turned dramatic.

In the first quarter, with Cincinnati leading 7-3, Buffalo’s Damar Hamlin was seriously injured after colliding with an opponent during a tackle.

24-year-old Damar received medical assistance on the field for almost a quarter of an hour, an ambulance also arrived at the arena. The athlete underwent heart massage.

According to the NFL, the player was taken to the hospital in critical condition. After several minutes of uncertainty, the match was suspended for good.

“News on Damar: Vitals are normal and they (medical staff) have sedated him with a breathing tube down his throat. I’m doing more tests now. We’ll give you more information as soon as we get it,” Jordan Rooney, Damar Hamlin’s marketing advisor, was quoted as saying by News.ro.

“Damar Hamlin’s heart stopped. He was resuscitated on the field and taken to UC Medical Center for evaluation and treatment. He is currently under sedation and is considered critical,” the Buffalo Bills club said.
