Paris Saint-Germain managed to defeat Strasbourg 2-1 at home in the round of 16 of Ligue 1. Without Lionel Messi, who is resting as a staff, the Parisians finished the match numerically inferior after the withdrawal of Neymar.

With stars Kylian Mbappe and Neymar back from the World Cup in Qatar, PSG have rested trophy winner Lionel Messi, who will not return to the first team until January.

Marquinhos opened the scoring in just the 14th minute, finishing off Neymar’s cross. The Brazilian defender was both an angel and a demon, scoring an own goal in the 51st minute.

In the 63rd minute, Neymar saw a red card after picking up two yellow cards within two minutes for a foul and a simulation.

The winning goal was scored by Mbappe, who in the last minute of extra time converted a shot from 11 meters, received after an incorrect pass by Njamsi.

After this result, PSG collects 44 points and remains in the first position in Ligue 1, 8 points behind second place holder Lens.
