Brazil is at the top of the FIFA ranking

According to FIFA, Argentina are in second place and would have moved ahead of the Seleção if they had managed to beat France in regular time or two extra periods.

The French complete the podium, beating the Belgian national team, which did not reach the highest stage of the World Cup.

Morocco and Australia, huge jumps

Opponents in the minor finals, Croatia and Morocco, moved up several positions. While the Croatians are ranked 5th, the Moroccans have moved up to 11th place, last ranked at 22nd. Australia also made a huge jump of 11 places and now reach 27th place.

Romania ranks 52nd

The Romanian national team remains far from the elite of world football, occupying the 52nd place, one place higher than in the previous ranking. The team under the leadership of Edi Jordenescu is superior to such national teams as Burkina Faso, Saudi Arabia or Mali.
