Rapid – Petrolul 3-1, the 20th stage of the Super League

Adrian Mutu’s men opened the scoring in the 9th minute thanks to Marko Dugandzic, who converted a shot from 11 meters under the dictation of referee Kolcescu for a handball by Irobiso.

Alexandru Ionice missed a chance to add to the score in the 36th minute when he missed another penalty awarded for Mathaus’ foul on Emmers.

Four minutes later, the referee awarded a penalty after reviewing the VAR images after Crepoul elbowed Jair. The “Petrol” player performed as poorly as Ionice, and the Moldovan refused.

The equalizer came after the break when Giku Grozav converted Mathaus’s excellent cross on the fly in the 61st minute.

In the 73rd minute, “Rapid” restored the advantage, scoring the second goal on his signature Dugandzic, who perfectly finished the counterattack.

Stefan Panoiu makes it 3-1 in the minutes of overtime after a superb run that also saw him beat the Ploiesti goalkeeper.

The match was played at the National Arena, as the Giulesti Stadium is in the process of replacing the turf.

Rapid Bucharest scores 37 points and rises to the third position, while Petrolul remains with 29 points in the 8th place of the Superliga rating.
