Messi extended his contract after the World Cup in Qatar
Messi has 12 goals and 14 assists this season for PSG in all competitions. He arrived in Paris from FC Barcelona in 2021 and is out of contract next summer.
“He’s been fantastic this season, scoring a lot of goals and providing a lot of assists. We agreed together that we will sit down to discuss the extension of the contract after the World Cup,” Al-Khelaifi said, according to Reuters.
Marcus Rashford, who is wanted by the French champions
Another player who is out of contract next summer is Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford. The president of PSG declared his interest in the player, who was previously wanted by the formation from the capital of France.
“If he becomes free from his contract, we will talk to him, but not now. Let’s let him focus on the World Cup. Then, in January, if the interest persists, we will talk to him,” the PSG president said.
