Romania’s women’s table tennis team qualified for the 2023 European Team Championships with a 3-0 away win over Turkey in Group A1 of the preliminary tournament on Wednesday, according to the Romanian Table Tennis Federation.

Adina Diakonu vs. Ozge Yilmaz 3-1 (11-5, 11-4, 8-11, 11-8)

Bernadette Shox vs Sibel Altinkaya 3-0 (12-10, 11-3, 11-8)

Andrei Dragoman vs. Eche Harak 3-2 (6-11, 9-11, 11-6, 11-9, 11-5).

Know:

  • Romania, the European vice-champions, also beat Turkey in Bucharest (3-0), while the team coached by Mihaela Steff also beat Hungary away (3-1).
  • The first two places in the group go directly to Europe. The third-placed teams will play additional qualifying matches for the second group stage.
