Prominent former Barcelona and Inter striker Samuel Eto’o attacked and kicked a fan who was taunting him right after Brazil’s World Cup match against South Korea on Monday night, according to footage obtained by La Opinion newspaper.
Eto’o, now president of the Cameroon Football Federation, attacked an Algerian fan who was filming him, beside himself with what the fan had told him.
The episode occurred when Eto’o, leaving the stadium, was photographed with several fans, and then talked to a passerby who caught him on camera. It was the Algerian, a well-known blogger in his country, who approached the veteran striker and asked if he had paid the referee for the Algiers-Cameroon play-off match from which Cameroon reached the World Cup final.
Eto swore at him and moved threateningly against him, but his bodyguards rushed to restrain him. The Algerian retreated, but Eto’o did not calm down, listening to the fan taunt him.
