FIFA has announced that Istvan Kovac will once again serve as a reserve referee (fourth official) for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. It is a match between Portugal and Switzerland (Tuesday, December 6, at 21:00) within the round of 16 competition.

This is the eighth referee delegation from Kari at this World Cup, all of them from the position of reserve referee.

At the age of 37, Kovacs will also be the fourth official in the match between Portugal and Switzerland. The match will take place on Tuesday, December 6, from 21:00.

The Romanian referee will be Mexican Cesar Ramos’ reserve. Assistants will also be from Mexico: Alberto Morin and Miguel Hernandez.

So far, Istvan Kovac has collected 92,500 euros

The prize for participation in the World Cup in Qatar was 70,000 euros, and for each match to which he was delegated in the group stage, István Kovacs received 2,500 euros.

For the round of 16 match on Tuesday, the price has increased to 5,000 euros.

In total, the referee from Romania has so far collected 92,500 euros for participating in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Assistant referee – group stage $2,500 / playoffs $5,000
