Stephanie Frapart is the first woman to boo a World Cup match.

Stephanie Frapar made history when she was appointed referee for Costa Rica’s match against Germany, becoming the first woman to referee a men’s World Cup match. The 38-year-old Frenchwoman will be accompanied by two women and her assistants will be Salima Mukansaga from Rwanda and Yoshimi Yamasta from Japan.

β€œThe Men’s World Championship is the most important sporting event in the world. I refereed matches in France and Europe, so I know how to deal with it,” Frapar said.

Stephanie Frapard became the first woman to referee a Coupe de France final and also the first woman to referee a match in the men’s Champions League.
