The Brazilian press reported that Pele was admitted to the Albert Einstein Hospital after being diagnosed with systemic inflammation and decompensated heart failure, and underwent several tests.

Pele was hospitalized, but nothing serious

Kelly Nascimento, his daughter, posted a message to reassure fans, saying it was “not a surprise or an emergency.”

“Today there is a lot of anxiety in the media about my father’s health. He is in the hospital to adjust his medication. There are no extraordinary or dire new predictions. I will be there on New Year’s and I promise to post some photos.” Pele’s daughter wrote on Instagram, quoted by Agerpres.

Pele, considered by many to be the greatest footballer of all time, underwent surgery last year for a colon tumor that was discovered during routine medical examinations.

Later, he began a course of chemotherapy, he had to go to the hospital several times to closely monitor the development.

Pele’s big wish: Brazil, winner of the World Cup in Qatar

In April, Pele (the only player in history to win the World Cup three times, in 1958, 1962 and 1970) announced that he was looking forward to seeing Brazil win another major title in Qatar.

“Are you ready for another World Cup? I. I really want to see our team lift the trophy again,” Pele wrote on social media.
