Mattia Binotto no longer heads the Ferrari Formula 1 team
Binotto came under intense pressure after the Scuderia failed to win the title in the recently concluded season and eventually resigned.
It’s been a tough season for Ferrari, with the Scuderia looking like they could match RedBull at the start of the year, but in the end the season ended in yet another disappointment for the Italian team.
Ferrari once again disappointed fans everywhere and someone had to pay for another missed season.
Additionally, the (often confused) racing strategies adopted by the team have been heavily commented on by Scuderia fans in the recently concluded season, with Binotto being held to be the main culprit in the current situation.
Mattia Binotto’s replacement will be announced in early 2023.
The former team boss joined Ferrari in 1995 as an engineer. He headed the Scuderia in 2019 (before the start of the season), and three years later he leaves, without having managed to bring a single title to the Italian team.
Know:
- The Ferrari drivers finished the 2022 Formula 1 season in 2nd (Charles Leclerc – 308 points) and 5th (Carlos Sainz Jr – 246 points) respectively.
- In the hierarchy of manufacturers, Scuderia Ferrari finished second (554 points). RedBull became the champion (759 points), and Mercedes finished on the last step of the podium with 515 points.
