Having not competed on the international stage in recent years, Jamaican Osafa Powell announced his retirement on social media.
“I started my career in 2022, I had many ups and downs, but I was always proud of what I achieved. Now I’m opening a new chapter in my life.” – wrote Asafa Powell.

Asafa Powell set the 100m record in 2005 in Athens, 9.77 seconds, but also in 2008 in Stuttgart, 9.74 seconds.
The Jamaican finishes his career with an impressive record of 10 gold, 4 silver and two bronze medals.
