Zinedine Zidane has agreed with the French Football Federation and will start managing the national team after the end of the World Cup in Qatar.
Zidane, the future coach of the French national team
The former Real Madrid coach will sign the contract in January 2023, accompanied by his assistant David Bettoni. In this way, Zidane fulfilled his dream of coaching his national team, which is why he refused the offer that came in the summer from PSG, writes Mundo Deportivo.
On October 25, during the ceremonial opening of the statue in the Greven museum, Zidane admitted that his return to the technical bench will happen very soon.
The French coach’s contract expires in May 2021, when he completes his second term at Real Madrid. The current coach of the French national team, Didier Deschamps, has been on the bench in the national team since 2012.
France have been drawn in Group D at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar alongside Australia, Denmark and Tunisia.
