Thanks to an accurate penalty by Gareth Bale, Wales earned a point (1:1) against the United States in the second group of the World Cup. Before the match, Rob Page’s team played the role of underdog.

It is characteristic that in the first minutes of the match it was the hosts who put pressure. In the tenth minute, Belhalter’s wards missed an excellent double.

Hennessy saved his team from a nearly own goal by Rondon. Later in the phase, Sargent headed but the ball hit the right post.

In the 29th minute, Dest hit hard as the ball went wide. The US opened the scoring in the 34th minute. Pulisic made a good cross to Weah who made it 1-0 with a beautiful finish.

In the second half, Wales tried to gain yards on the field. The guests usually had the ball, but did not threaten.

In the 64th minute, Rob Page’s team threatened Davis with a header and Turner took a corner. Moore threatened with a headbutt moments later, but his kick was wide.

In the 80th minute, the Welshman converted a penalty after Bale was knocked down by Zimmermann in the box. The leader of the group took over the execution and defeated Turner. Just before the 90th minute, Wales had another good chance, but the US goalkeeper was on hand.
