Ecuador spoiled Qatar’s party on Sunday and won their first World Cup match 2-0 thanks to a goal from Enner Valencia. The mood was raging in the stands, and the Ecuadorian fan angered the hosts.
One Ecuadorian fan took particular delight in his team’s performance and was filmed teasing the home fans while celebrating one of the goals.
A fan can be seen “rustling” imaginary bills as he keeps asking those around him, “How much money?” Many?”.
Seconds later, the Ecuadorian can be seen having a heated discussion with a man sitting a few rows behind him, telling him to shut up.
Towards the end of the game, they reconciled, and the fan in yellow explained the situation: “We are very hot-tempered, and that sometimes upsets people. But we gather for sport, sport unites people. So we are friendly with each other.”
