Max Verstappen ended the 2022 Formula 1 season on a perfect note, with the reigning world champion winning the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the final Grand Prix of the season. But RedBull missed out on the drivers’ double with Charles Leclerc finishing second.

Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) finished the season in 2nd place – RedBull missed the double

Verstappen won in Abu Dhabi and thus won 15 victories in a season, which is an absolute record. Michael Schumacher (in 2004) and Sebastian Vettel (in 2013) collected “only” 13 successes each in the Formula 1 season.

The Dutchman was followed by Charles Leclerc, the Ferrari driver who finished second this season.

Only third at the Yas Marina circuit, Sergio Perez (RedBull) finished 3rd in the drivers’ standings (26th career podium).

Sunday’s Grand Prix was the last race in Sebastian Vettel’s career. The German won four world championship titles with RedBull – 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013.
