The new Corolla Cross is a practical family-friendly SUV that complements the current Corolla lineup, further cementing Toyota’s presence in the midsize SUV segment. On the streets of Barcelona, ​​on a route of more than 180 kilometers, he gave us a very good driving experience. The new model for the first time incorporated the latest developments of the Japanese company in the field of hybrid technologies, the use of digital technologies and security systems. The T-Mate for Corolla Cross combines the new, 3rd generation Toyota Safety Sense Package (TSS), which can receive over-the-air updates for the first time, as well as other active driving and parking assistance systems that not only make driving easier and safer, but at the same time ensure the protection of all vehicle occupants and other road users.

The transmission has been tuned for European driving conditions, with a tighter and more natural relationship between the driver’s use of the throttle and the vehicle’s acceleration. The driver can opt for Toyota’s AWD-i all-wheel drive system, which has been upgraded with a more powerful rear electric motor for even more reliable cornering and starting performance on low-friction surfaces. In particular, the new model is available with a 2.0-liter engine with 197 hp, with an acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 7.6 seconds for the FWD version and 7.5 seconds for the AWD version, with CO2 emissions they range from 114 to 115 g/km. and between 120-22 g/km. with all-wheel drive. For now, it’s worth mentioning that the Corolla Cross is the first model in the world to use Toyota’s fifth-generation self-charging hybrid electric system.
