The French national team respected its status as a big favorite in Main Group II and advanced to the semifinals of the European Women’s Handball Championship by defeating the German national team.

France reached the semi-finals of the European Handball Championship

Olivier Krambholz’s girls led for most of the game (Germany tied 4, 5 and 6) and the final score was 29-21.

With this success (the fifth in a row at this final tournament), the reigning Olympic champion will finish first in the group and play in the semi-finals against the second-placed team in the other group (Denmark/Sweden/Slovenia).

• The Romanian national team is participating in the EC final tournament for the 14th time. In the 2020 edition, Romania took 12th place, the lowest ranking in the history of its participation. The best result was obtained at the 2010 competition – a bronze medal.

• The title of European champion belongs to Norway, who won it for the eighth time at the 2020 tournament.
