FC Barcelona have made several super transfers this summer, most of them free, taking advantage of several players being out of contract.

However, the Catalans also invested good money in transfers, spending no less than 153 million euros to attract three footballers: Jules Kunde (50 million euros), Rafinho (58 million euros) and Robert Lewandowski (45 million euros).

With Barcelona unlikely to bring Bernardo Silva to Camp Nou after negotiations failed in the summer, the Spanish vice-champions have been quick to rebrand and want another player from Pep Guardiola’s squad.

At 32, Ilkay Gundogan is Barcelona’s number 1 priority this winter. The German midfielder is under contract with Manchester City until the summer of 2023 and the Catalans are betting that the city will want to get something in return for captain Gundogan, who they could lose on a free transfer in the summer.

The four-time English champion is currently valued at €25 million at Manchester City, according to Transfermarkt. Barcelona are counting on Gundogan’s agent to be the same as Andreas Christensen, who was brought in on a free transfer from Chelsea.

Gundogan made 273 appearances for Manchester City, scoring 51 goals and providing 35 assists.

Gundogan has 62 matches and 16 goals for the German national football team.

The option of Yuri Tielemans, a 25-year-old Leicester City player who has already expressed his desire to leave the Foxes this summer, is also not excluded. According to Transfermarkt, the Belgian is valued at 40 million euros.
