
On Thursday, Davyd Popovici won the gold medal in the 100m freestyle at the National Short Course Championships, held in Otopeni.
Two-time world and European champion Popovici (CS Dinamo) finished the race with a result of 46.62 (national record).
Andrii Ungur (CSM Braşov, 48.42) and Patrick Sebastian Dinu (CS Farul Constanţa, 48.62) completed the podium.
The world record in this sport belongs to Australian Kyle Chalmers: 44.84 s.
