Holger Roon was due to attend the Next Gen ATP Finals, a competition that brings together the best men’s under-21 players, but the Dane’s plans were turned upside down after he won the Paris Masters and rose to No. 10 in the world rating.
Holger Roon withdrew from the ATP Next Generation Finals to be a reserve on the Champions Tour
So, the player coached by Patrick Muratoglu decided to withdraw from the competition in Milan (November 8-12) in order to be present in Turin, where the Tournament of Champions will take place (November 13-20).
With the end of Carlos Alcaraz (the world leader was injured even during his match with Holger in the quarterfinals of the Paris Masters), Taylor Fritz (9 ATP) entered the table of competitions that will close the curtain on the 2022 season, and Rohn (10 ATP, 19 years old) will be the first reserve.
Players participating in the 2022 Tournament of Champions: Rafael Nadal, Casper Ruud, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Novak Djokovic, Daniil Medvedev, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Andriy Rublev and Taylor Fritz.
Should any last-minute injury arise, Holger Roon will play at the Pala Alpitour in Turin.
