
​Caroline Garcia, the fifth seed on the 2022 Tour of Champions tournament, reached the semifinals of the competition in Fort Worth after a dramatic match with Daria Kasatkina.

Garcia, who started the season ranked 74th in the WTA rankings, led 4-2 in the first set but eventually fell 4-6. Caroline played superbly in the second set, converting 13 games to take the match to a deciding set with a decisive 6-1 win.
The third match was tightly contested and Garcia qualified for the penultimate act of the tournament in Texas with a 7-5 tiebreaker win. The game lasted two hours and 27 minutes.
In another match of the group, Iga Sviatek again showed her strength and defeated Coco Gauf (already eliminated) with a score of 6-3, 6-0 in just 69 minutes.
