Holger Roon eliminated Carlos Alcaraz at the Paris Masters

The student of Patrik Muratoglu won the first set without much excitement (6-3), and even if Alcaraz raised his level of play, he managed to stay close and take the second set into overtime.

Carlos, who cited health issues and called off a medical timeout at 6-5, withdrew as the Dane led 3-1 in the tiebreak (to avoid injury before the Tournament of Champions).

The Iberian ended his career after an hour and 36 minutes of play.

Rounet (18 ATP) will face Félix Auger-Aliassime (8th favorite) to advance to the grand final of the Paris-Bercy tournament after the Canadian beat American Francis Tiafoe (16) 6-1, 6-4.

Auger-Aliassime has won the last three tournaments he has entered: Florence, Antwerp and Basel. In the final of the tournament in Switzerland on October 30, Felix defeated Holger in two sets with a score of 6-3, 7-5.

The Rolex Paris Masters runs from October 31 to November 6 indoors. Its total prize pool is €5,415,410 and the reigning champion is Novak Djokovic (2021). The competition at “Palais Omnisports” in Bersa is part of the ATP 1000 (Masters) category.
