Félix Auger-Aliassime and Andriy Rublev have qualified for the 2022 Champions Tour, while other Turin contenders were knocked out in the second round of the Paris Masters on Thursday by Holger Rune and Gilles Simon.

Holger Roon defeated Hubert Gurkach at the Paris Masters

Roon, a new apprentice of Patrik Muratoglu, proved once again that he is one of the strongest players in the ATP tournament, defeating Hubert Hurkac (10th seed) 7-5, 6-1.

Holger (18 ATP) will fight Andriy Rublev (favorite 7) to reach the quarterfinals of the tournament in Paris. The Russian can no longer be surpassed in the ATP Race rankings and will play at the Pala Alpitour in Turin (November 13-20).

Gilles Simon eliminated Taylor Fritz from the Tournament of Champions

188th in the world ranking Gilles Simon (37 years old) announced that the Paris Masters will be the last competition in his career.

The former ATP No. 6 Frenchman defeated American Taylor Fritz (No. 9 seed), 7-5, 5-7, 6-4.

Gilles, who beat Andy Murray in the first round, will defeat Felix Auger-Aliassime in the round of 16. The Canadian ranks 6th in the ATP Race Live rankings.

Qualified for the Tournament of Champions: Carlos Alcaraz, Rafael Nadal, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Casper Ruud, Daniil Medvedev, Novak Djokovic, Felix Auger-Aliassime and Andriy Rublev.
