When will the first hearing of Simona Halep’s case take place? ITIA, the international tennis integrity agency, answered Gazeta’s questions. Former WTA leader and two-time Grand Slam champion Halep tested positive for roxadustat, a substance from the erythropoietin category, in the first round of the US Open.
She is now suspended pending a grand jury hearing, which will study the case, review the evidence and make a decision.
The Gazette contacted the ITIA, the international tennis integrity agency, about the date of first appearance. “There is no confirmed date yet. The hearing will be convened by the independent organization Sports Resolutions, which will determine the composition of the jury and confirm the details,” ITIA said in a written response.
