Angelique Kerber has set her sights on a return to the US Open next year

The German player gave an interview to Bild, in which she talked about the moment of her return to tennis after giving birth, which, according to her, will take place in March.

The former WTA leader indicated that she wants to return to the court next year at the US Open, but does not rule out a possible return to Wimbledon, depending on her physical condition.

“I think I’ll be back before the end of the year. New York, not Wimbledon, but if there is an opportunity to play at Wimbledon, I would love to do it.

I won’t rush because when I come back I want to do it right. I will attack from the first and I will not play in tournaments to prepare.” Kerber said.

The Wimbledon tournament starts on July 3, 2023, and the US Open – on August 28, 2023.

Angelique Kerber will take her child with her to tournaments

“I will not leave the child at home. There will definitely be a babysitter. I don’t want to be completely out of control. Now I have more time, I can enjoy everything and approach everything more calmly.” – added the athlete.

The last tournament that Angelique Kerber participated in was this year’s Wimbledon, where she lost in the round of 16 to Elise Mertens.
