
Iberian Quique Setien has been appointed coach of Villarreal, the La Liga group announced on Tuesday.

Setien, 64, has not coached a team since he was sacked by FC Barcelona on August 17, 2020 following a 2-8 defeat against Bayern Munich.
On the bench of Villarreal, Quique Setien will replace Unai Emery, who left for Aston Villa. Setien has signed a contract until the end of the 2022-2023 season.
Setien will hold the first training session on Wednesday morning, after which he will hold a press conference.
In his coaching career, Quique Setien also led such teams as FC Barcelona, Betis Sevilla, Las Palmas or Racing Santander, writes News.ro.
