At the age of 27, Gianina has two world championship titles among adults in double rowing in the lightweight category, in 2017 and 2018, a bronze medal at the European Championships (2020) in the same event and a silver in single rowing in the lightweight category. At the same time, Janina Beleaga took 8th place in Rio de Janeiro (2016) and 6th place in Tokyo (2021) at the Olympic Games in double rowing in the light category.
“Rowing was and remains my first love. I am deeply grateful for the friendships I made through him, the lessons and experiences I gained; for the medals won and the hard times, the smiles and the tears that made me who I am.
As things come to an end, I would like to officially announce my retirement from rowing. However, as soon as one door closes, another opens. I can’t wait to start another chapter,” Janina wrote on her Facebook account.
