
On the first day of the European Weightlifting Championship among juniors and youth (U23) in Durres (Albania), Romanian athletes won 16 medals (4 gold, 6 silver and 6 bronze).
Mihaela Valentyna Kambei won three gold medals in cat. 49 kg (junior), 87 kg in the jerk, 102 in the throw and 189 in the sum, reports Agerpres.
Cosmin Florentin Isofache also won a gold medal in cat. 45 kg (juniors), total weight – 232 kg, winning bronze in the jerk – 105 kg, and silver in the throw – 127 kg.
In the same category, Florin Kosmin Krupla won two silver medals – in the jerk – 105 kg and in the sum – 231 kg, and in the throw – bronze – 126 kg.
In the U-23 category, Adriana Cosmina Pana won three silver medals in cat. 45 kg, deadlift 63 kg, throwing 81 kg and a total of 144 kg. Bianca Daniela Dumitrescu won three bronze medals in the same category, the jump from 62 kg, the throw from 79 kg and a total of 141 kg.
The bronze medal was also won by Ioana Medalina Miron in cat. 45 kg (juniors), throwing, from 78 kg. In the jerk, he took fourth place – 59 kg, and in the overall standings – also fourth – 137 kg.
