Todd Woodbridge tells how he knew he was having a heart attack

Todd Woodbridge started having chest pains while working out at a gym in Melbourne.

At the age of 51, Todd told the Australian media what happened and how he became aware of the problem:

“I tried to stick to my routine, I went to the US Open and London, I started working out and I noticed that my chest hurt. When I googled the symptoms, I was sweating and feeling horrible.

I had a little incident which turned out to be a mild heart attack which shocked me a bit” – Todd Woodbridgequoted by Tennis Head.

The 9-time Wimbledon doubles champion Australian also revealed that his brothers died in the early 50s and that he is more careful about his health.

“I have reached such an age when I have to periodically check up and go to the doctors. I was lucky to get checked in time and pass all the necessary tests. With a little observation and light treatment, I’ll be fine,” he said.

“From this whole situation, I learned how important your genetics are to your health. I know my mom needs stents and my dad has high cholesterol. If I take care of these aspects, I will definitely be fine in the future,” he concluded Todd Woodbridge.

Together with Mark Woodford, Todd Woodbridge won 12 Grand Slam doubles titles, becoming one of the most important partnerships in tennis history.
