
Daniel Ricciardo, who will no longer work for McLaren at the end of the 2022 season, has announced that he will not compete in Formula 1 in 2023.

The Australian rider, who has been on the grid since the middle of the 2011 season, plans to return in 2024.
“I think it’s a reality: I won’t be on the grid in 2023. I will try to prepare for 2024. It’s like pressing the pause button a little. Although it sounds interesting to compete in another discipline, mentally I’m not there yet. I’m still very committed to (Formula 1) and I think the period without a place will benefit me” – Daniel Riccardowho has 8 wins in 227 Grands Prix.
McLaren formalized parting with the athlete from Perth at the end of August in order to promote Oscar Piastri, writes News.ro.
This season, Ricciardo is only 11th in the drivers’ standings (29 points), well behind his teammate Lando Norris (7th, 100 points).
Ricciardo took victory with McLaren at the 2021 Italian Grand Prix.
