The match of the 3rd stage of UEFA Conference League Group G between Slavia Prague and CFR Cluj is scheduled for Thursday, October 6, at 10:00 p.m. live at Pro Arena.
Slavia Prague is the leader of the group and the ranked team with the highest chances of victory.
The vice-champions of the Czech Republic have four points after the first two stages, in which they drew at home with “Sivasspor” on emotions (1:1) and beat “Balkan” on emotions (3:2).
Jindrich Trpisowski’s side are 2nd in the domestic league with 22 points after 10 matches, one point behind leaders Viktoria Plzeň, the defending champions, who have played a match less, however.
Praguers are waiting for CFR Cluj after two completely different domestic matches, 0-3 away to Viktoria Plzeň and 3-0 at home to Slovan Liberec.
CFR Cluj do not appear to be factoring into any European Spring qualification calculations after picking up a certain point in two matches, 1-1 away to Balkan and 0-1 at home to Sivasspor (top of the group qualifies directly to the eighth finals of the competition, and the 2nd place will play in the 1/8 finals with the team that occupies the 3rd place in the UEFA Europa League groups).
Big problems in “Transylvania” and in the Super League, where it is in 4th place, having scored 21 points in 10 matches (the leader “Farul Konstanz” has 27 points, but in 12 games).
Moreover, two weeks ago, the club was rocked by a huge scandal related to the dismissal of Dan Petrescu, who was saved from the wrath of head coach Ioan Varga only by a €400,000 release clause.
“Slavia is the favorite, but we will not go to lose, we will go to win. I am aware of their value, but we are in a good moment, we have not lost in four league matches, we have only lost against Sivasspor, where the referee did not give us several clean penalties and disallowed a goal,” said Dan Petrescu, coach of “Railways” before during the match between Slavia Prague and CFR Cluj.
The two teams met in the same official “double” in the 2019-2020 UEFA Champions League play-offs: “Slavia” from Prague defeated “CFR Cluj” both in the match of the tour in Gruja and in the second leg in the Czech Republic, with the same score of 1 -0.
Superbet offers odds of 1.50 for a home win in the match Slavia Prague – ČFR Cluj.
