Reducanu (77 WTA) started the match very well and led 6-4, 2-1, but a left thigh injury started to cause her more and more problems. Ostapenko took full advantage, winning eight of the next nine games, and Emma came from 3-0 down in the decisive match for the Latvian.

In the final of the tournament in South Korea, Olena Ostapenko (19 WTA) will meet Kateryna Alexandrova (24 WTA, second favorite), after the Russian beat Tatyana Maria (80 WTA/7), the score 6-2, 6-4.

Thanks to the trip from Seoul, Emma Reducanu scored 856 points and will record a jump of 11 positions in the WTA ranking (she will take the 66th place).
