A protester set himself on fire in front of Roger Federer at the 2022 Laver Cup
The man, who was wearing a ‘Stop UK Private Jets’ T-shirt, ran onto the court during the exchange of balls at the start of the second set and sat cross-legged by the net.
Those present were stunned when he poured the liquid on his right hand and set it on fire. Security personnel quickly intervened and extinguished the fire before removing the protester from the field.
The 20-year-old protester, named Kai, is a member of the End UK Private Jets group, which claims that “carbon emissions in 2022 are genocide”, the Daily Mail notes.

An activist simply set himself on fire while protesting against private jets #lavercup. I wish there was no need to create awareness about it #climate change more. I hope they are not hurt. It seemed that the court was on fire at one point, but he was not injured. The match has been resumed. pic.twitter.com/NoukxBcxJH
