
American Rajiv Ram and Great Britain’s Joe Salisbury defended their US Open men’s doubles title a year ago after confirming their status as top favorites to win Friday’s final.
In the final act of the competition at Flushing Meadows, the Rams and Salisburg overcame the early favorites. 2, Wesley Kohlhof of the Netherlands and Neil Skupski of Great Britain, 7-6(4), 7-5. The match lasted almost two hours.
In addition to their US Open titles, Rahm and Salisbury also won the 2020 Australian Open together.
In the mixed category, Rajiv won at the Australian Open 2019 and 2021 (with Barbora Krejcikova), and Joe triumphed at Roland Garros 2021 and US Open 2021 (with Desiree Krawczyk).
