​FIFA published a report on Thursday on international transfers made between June 1 and September 1, 2022, with clubs spending a total of $5 billion.

According to the report, there were 9,717 international transfers in men’s football, a 16.2% increase on the same period last year and the highest ever.

The total amount of transfers amounted to 5 billion dollars, which is 29.7% more than in the same period of 2021.

England leads the list of countries with the largest number of transfers, both by the volume of acquisitions and by the volume of sales. 422 players arrived from England and 515 players departed. In both charts, Spain ranks second (383 acquisitions, 437 departures), while France (361) is third in acquisitions and Portugal (419) in departures.

The number of international transfers in women’s football also increased: 684, which is 14.4% more than in 2021.

The total amount paid to players’ agents was 494.4 million dollars, writes News.ro.
