Chelsea moved quickly after announcing on Wednesday that Thomas Tuchel will no longer manage the team. On Thursday, the Londoners reached an agreement to fill the vacant position of coach.

London “Chelsea” announced on the official website about parting with Thomas Tuchel. Defeat against Dynamo Zagreb in the Champions League was fatal for the German coach, as he was eliminated from the group at Stamford Bridge.

Graham Potter, the coach of Brighton, agreed with Chelsea to become a technician of the team

Graham Potter has given a verbal agreement to take charge of Chelsea and is expected to be on the bench for the team’s game against Fulham on Saturday.

According to the Dailymail, Potter, still the Brighton manager, will hold a press conference on Thursday to clarify his situation.

With Brighton, Potter won 43 games, lost 48 and drew a further 43 (a total of 134 on the bench for England).

Chelsea made their Champions League debut as a left-back as the former European champions were beaten 1-0 by Dinamo Zagreb. The defeat cost Tuchel the position of coach, and the German was removed from the team.

Tuchel came to Chelsea in January 2021, and at the end of the season brought the Champions League trophy to the window of the London group (1:0 in the final against Manchester City).

Chelsea also won the European Super Cup and the Club World Cup that year.

Tuchel’s sacking came just after the manager marked his 100th appearance on the Chelsea bench. During his reign, the Londoners won 60 times, drew 24 times and lost 16 games.

After six competitive stages, “Chelsea” is in 6th place in the Premier League, having scored 10 points (5 behind the leader “Arsenal”).​
