On Tuesday, the WTA announced that this year’s Tournament of Champions will take place at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, from October 31 to November 7. The competition will bring together the eight best athletes of the current season at the start, and Simona Halep has a real chance to qualify.

“Dickies Arena and the city of Fort Worth have a proven track record of hosting world-class sporting and entertainment events, and we are excited to bring the flagship WTA Tour back to the United States for the first time since 2005.
This venue will provide a fantastic experience for players and fans alike and will cap off another exciting season on the WTA circuit.” said Steve Simonpresident of the WTA.
Since opening in late 2019, Dickies Arena has hosted top concerts and sporting events, including Paul McCartney, Michael Bublé and KISS, as well as the opening rounds of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, the USA Gymnastics Championships and the Bassmaster Classic. The arena continues to bring incredible acts to Fort Worth, such as the Eagles, Post Malone, Chris Stapleton, George Strait, and many more to come this year.
The competition was originally planned to be held in Shenzhen, but in the future the event will return to China.
