In June, at the World Swimming Championships in Budapest, Caleb Dressel withdrew from the semifinals of the 100-meter freestyle, which was later won by David Popovich.

For more than two months, nothing has been heard from the star of world swimming, citing neither the fact that he is injured nor that he has problems in the field of mental health.

Caleb Dressel, Instagram post after ‘disappointment’ – announced his comeback

Dressel posted a message on Instagram explaining that he was happy to stop swimming for a while while he honeymooned and relaxed.

“Hello friends! I haven’t been around at all, but I want to share with you what I’ve been up to lately.

I didn’t swim at all after the World Championships and I can honestly say that I was happy without swimming. I missed it though.

Around this time, I finally had time to honeymoon in Iceland, buy a tractor, or go hiking.

But I realized one thing: I can swim and be happy.

I have felt this throughout my career and now I hope to find the balance again.

The most important thing I’ve learned during this time is that when you need a break, take it. I will return!” – Caleb Dressel on Instagram.

In Tokyo 2020, Dressel won five gold medals, and at the World Championships in Budapest, before the end of his career, he won gold in the 50-meter butterfly and in the 4×100 freestyle relay.
