
Ana Bohdan and Sabrina Santamaria crashed out in the second round of the 2022 US Open doubles, leaving Romania without representatives at the final Grand Slam of the year.
Bohdan and Santamaria were defeated by Barbora Krejcikova / Kateryna Siniakova, seeded at number 3, 6-2, 6-2, in 59 minutes of play.
In the first round, Krejcikova and Sinyakov beat Monika Niculescu and Gabriela Ruse.

Iryna Begu / Raluk Olaru and Iryna Bara / Kateryna Gorgodze also lost in the first doubles round.
In singles, Simona Halep lost in the first round to Daria Snigur (124 WTA qualifier) and Jacqueline Christian to Annette Kontaveit (2nd seed) at the same stage of the competition.
In the second round, Iryna Begu lost to Yue Yuan (142 WTA), Sorana Kirstja lost to Belindaj Bencic (13th favorite), and Gabriela Ruse lost to Coco Gauf (12th favorite).
