Fiona Ferro (former WTA No. 39), who accused him of rape and sexual assault about Pierre Bouteir (his former coach)reacted after the man admitted that the two had sex, but clarified that it was with her consent.

The French woman filed a complaint at the Fréjus police station in February, accusing the coach of rape and sexual assault allegedly committed between 2012 and 2015 in Saint-Raphaël.

At the time of the facts mentioned in the complaint, the athlete was between 15 and 18 years old.

The 25-year-old athlete published a message in which she said that she did not consent to sexual relations with her former coach, and said that she believes that justice in France will make the right decision in this case.

“I acknowledge the position of Pierre Bouteir regarding my accusations of rape and sexual violence by a high-ranking person.

I confirm that I did not give my consent and that the rape and sexual violence were committed by moral coercion, in accordance with article 222-24 of the Criminal Code.

I have full confidence in the justice system in my country and confirm that I do not wish to make any statements regarding the criminal investigation process.

Ferro emotionally supported Alize Cornet, whose coach was Pierre Bouteir.

After the indictment, Pierre Bouteir was placed under judicial control. The coach is prohibited from communicating with Fiona Ferro, he is not allowed to coach minors and will have to undergo psychological treatment.

Investigators are investigating whether there are other victims.
