In the first match of the day on court 11 Sorana Kirstea (37 WTA) will meet Swiss Belinda Bencic (13th favorite, Olympic champion in Tokyo). The game will start at 18:00 (Romanian time).
After this match, on the same field, there will be a confrontation between Iryna Begu (42 WTA) and China’s Yue Yuan (142 WTA, qualifier). The match could start at 19:30.
Also on Thursday, three Romanian athletes will play in doubles.
Ana Bohdan/Sabrina Santamaria (Romania/USA) vs. Elizabeth Mandlik/Katrina Scott (USA) will play the first match on Court 14, starting at 6:00 p.m.
Monica Niculescu/Gabriela Ruse The match against Barbora Krejcikova/Kateryna Siniakova (Czech Republic, 3 favourites) will be the fifth match on court 9 and could start around 00:30.
