Borna Coric is the man of the moment in men’s tennis, the Croatian managed to win the Cincinnati Masters from the 152nd ATP position. In the grand final, Corych defeated the favorite Stefanos Tsitsipas (fourth seed in Ohio).

Borna won in straight sets 7-6(0), 6-2, overcoming Lorenzo Musetti, Rafael Nadal, Roberto Bautista Agut, Felix Auger Aliassime, Cameron Norrie and Stefanos en route to the Tsitsipas trophy.

The final lasted one hour and 52 minutes.

At the age of 25, Corych climbed 123 positions in the world rankings, currently ranked 29th in the ATP rankings.

The Croatian topped the world rankings at No. 12 (in 2018), but shoulder surgery (in 2021) derailed his plans and he was out of the ATP circuit for a long time.

After his success in Cincinnati, Borna Coric became the lowest-ranked player to win a Masters tournament (ATP 1000).

The record belonged to Roberto Carretero, who won from the 143rd place in the world in 1996 at the ATP tournament in Hamburg.
