Deshaun Watson, a player of the American football team “Cleveland Browns” in the NFL, has been accused of several sexual assaults and fined 5 million dollars, reports L’Equipe.
The player was also suspended for 11 matches.
Watson, who joined the Browns this season after five years with the Houston Texans, is a three-time Pro Bowl, NFL All-Star. The athlete was suspended for violating the American League’s code of conduct.
The 26-year-old player is accused of sexually assaulting 25 women. There were no criminal prosecutions against the athlete, but there are several civil lawsuits against him.
Watson was initially suspended for six games. But the NFL appealed, and the athlete was suspended for 11 games and fined five million dollars.
As a result of the suspension, DeShaun Watson will miss two-thirds of the NFL regular season (which consists of 17 games and starts on September 8). Watson will be able to play from November 28, writes News.ro.
