Dinamo Bucharest, the reigning men’s handball champion, won the fifth Romanian Super Cup in its history, defeating rivals Steaua Bucharest 32-24 on Thursday.

Thus, in 2022, “Dynamo” won the treble: the title, the Cup and the Romanian Super Cup.

For the first 25 minutes, “Steaua” did not lag behind the champion, and against the background of the indecisive game of Dynamo, after which the balance was “broken”. The second half was decorated with vulgar shouts from the star gallery against the opponents, who responded on the field and categorically won the trophy, writes News.ro.

Winner of 18 national titles, including the last six in a row, as well as seven Romanian Cup trophies, Dinamo Bucharest also won the Super Cup in 2016, 2018, 2019 and 2020.

The players coached by Javi Pascual continue to prepare at a high level for the 2022-2023 season, in which they will also play in the Champions League. Dynamo will play in Group A with PSG Handball, Magdeburg, GOG, FC Porto, Telekom Veszprém, Orlen Wisla Plock and HC Zagreb.

The debut in Group A for Dynamo Bucharest will take place on September 15 at home against Magdeburg.
