Bianca Andreescu made her debut at the “WTA 1000” tournament in Toronto, the Canadian athlete made it to the second round, knocking out Russian Daria Kasatkina (11th favorite).

Andreescu, the 2019 event winner, outlasted the San Jose champion 7-6(5), 6-4 in two and a half hours.

In the next round, Bianca (53 WTA) will meet the Frenchwoman Alize Cornet (40 WTA), who defeated her compatriot Caroline Garcia (34 WTA) with a score of 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.
