Sorana Kirstea will not be able to take part in the 2022 National Bank Open (formerly the Rogers Cup) due to an injury, organizers of the WTA 1000 competition, which will be held in Toronto this year, have announced.
Sorana’s problems look serious, considering that she did not play this week either (tournaments in Washington and San Jose took place).
Bianca Andreescu will take the place of our athlete in the main grid of Canadian competitions.
In 2013, Sorana Kirstea reached the final of the tournament in Toronto, but lost to Serena Williams 6-2, 6-0. The result recorded at that time brought the player from Tirgovishte the best rating in her career: 21st place in the world.
